Henninger's Tavern could thrive on the charm of its narrow dining room alone. With its blood-red walls, crowded with posters and photographs, and white cloth-covered tables, it mixes high style with true blue Baltimore quirk. But the owners of the Upper Fells Point tavern choose not to coast. Instead, the kitchen turns out exceedingly well-executed American food, like shellfish pasta in a garlicky red sauce, stacked with an overwhelming number of mussels and clams. The staff, both well-informed and down-to-earth, leaves every table smiling. (Baltimore Sun Best Restaurants, Oct. 11, 2015)
